Dauphinois potatoes

These potatoes were first made by my mother 30 years ago in our home and she introduced them to us as French potatoes. We loved the dish and from then on, Mom's French potatoes were frequently at our holiday dinners!!

The recipe is easy and the flavour is unbeatable!

It is a great accompaniment to meat or chicken.

Ingredients

1 clove of garlic, finely chopped

500g of potatoes

200ml of cream

150ml of milk

Salt, pepper

Preheat the oven to 170° with the fan.

We peel and cut the potatoes into thin 4mm slices with a mandolin or a knife. Put them in cold water in a bowl.

We spread the garlic in a small pyrex dish. Mine measures 28x18cm for 500g of potatoes.

Place the potatoes on top of the garlic in rows.

In a small bowl, we mix the cream, milk, salt and pepper. We pour the mixture over the potatoes.

Bake for about an hour.

Et voilà!

Bon appétit!
