Homemade Doughnuts
Homemade doughnuts are tastier than store-bought!!
Ingredients:
175g whole milk
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 sachet of dry yeast (8-9g)
310g bread flour
1 large egg
60gbutter
1/2 teaspoon salt
Lots of sunflower oil for frying
1 cup of sugar
Warm the milk slightly up to 30°C (we must always pay attention to the temperature of the liquid in order not to burn the yeast). Add the sugar and yeast to the milk, mix and let it foam for 5 minutes. (I always do this to make sure the yeast is working. If it doesn't work, we will just throw away the milk and not the entire dough).
Place the flour, milk, yeast mixture, the egg and the melted but not hot butter in the mixer bowl. Knead for 5 minutes at medium to high speed. Add the salt and knead for 5 minutes.
We cover the bowl with cling film and we let it double in volume for about 1 hour depending on the temperature of our kitchen.
Cut baking paper into squares of about 10 cm.
On a clean counter, we roll out our dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of about 7mm.
Cut with a cookie cutter or any 9cm container and we have the center with a 4cm lid.
Place the doughnuts on the square papers, cover them with a towel and let them rise for 30'.
Heat the oil in a deep pan. We put the doughnuts with the paper on and remove it as soon as it comes off. Fry on medium heat on both sides. Remove from the pan and place on kitchen paper for a while.
Hot as they are, dip them in sugar from both sides.
